Your role and your impact:
As a Mechatronic System Control Architect, you will be the mastermind behind the architecture of our advanced motion control systems, ensuring they meet the high standards of our customers and the evolving demands of the market. Your role is pivotal in translating customer needs into machine design specifications and leading multidisciplinary teams to bring these visions to life.
Key responsibilities:
• Collaborate with customers to define machine design requirements, transforming their visions into reality.
• Lead and mentor internal and external system engineers, guiding them through complex implementations.
• Work closely with our sales and management teams to evaluate new opportunities and align technical solutions with business strategies.
• Architect and optimize the Frencken Motion Control Environment, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Assess and analyze system application needs, developing innovative design solutions that push the boundaries of technology.
• Document engineering specifications, designs, and solutions, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Validate and verify designs, ensuring they meet all specifications and quality standards.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a visionary Mechatronic System Control Architect who thrives in a dynamic, high-tech environment and is passionate about engineering excellence. This person will be acting next to the manager System Control Engineering to lead the engineers in their strategic and operational direction.
Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree (MSc.) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in real-time machine control applications, with a deep understanding of the V-model in development processes.
• Expertise in control strategies, electromotors, sensors, and braking systems.
• A strategic thinker with a "helicopter view"—able to see the big picture and navigate through complex requirements.
• Strong advocacy skills, capable of presenting and defending designs to both customers and project management.
• Proficiency in English and preferably good level of Dutch, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary, international teams.
• Knowledge of IEC60601 standards, regulatory affairs, and EMC is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with power circuits, fieldbuses (EtherCAT), and Matlab/Simulink is a significant plus.
