What does the role of Production Engineer -Continuous Improvement entail?
As Production engineer – Continuous Improvement you are responsible for leading and managing continuous improvement projects within production environments by implementing lean manufacturing principles and drive improvements in our production layouts, both NPI or Volume and Manufacturing Execution System (MES, Visual Factory).
What will you be doing:
• Create detailed Value Stream Maps for various production areas to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Identify and eliminate the 8 wastes within production processes to optimize workflows and align with lean manufacturing practices.
o Enhance efficiency and boost productivity.
o Address and resolve production bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with the Production Engineer – Digital Transformation to define and develop the MES (Visual Factory) roadmap. Determine and implement new functionalities to achieve a world-class MES.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement a SPC dashboard, aiming for a zero-waste production environment.
• Work together with Production Engineering and Engineering teams to define the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) roadmap from a production engineering perspective.
• Formulate critical questions for each tollgate in our Product Creation Process (PCP) and ensure these are addressed before advancing to the next PCP phase.
• Responsible for training and coaching Production Engineers on Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R.
• Regularly update senior management on project progress and outcomes.
Are you our Production Engineer -Continuous improvement?
You have a passion for continuous improvement and have successfully implemented numerous improvement projects. Lean manufacturing is second nature to you.
Furthermore, you have:
• Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical or scientific engineering discipline.
• Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt certification.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a related role.
• Demonstrated success in optimizing production layouts and workflows.
• Strong applied knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a structured manner.
• Hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written; Dutch is a plus.
