Who we are we

Frencken Mechatronics Europe takes care of the construction and verification of prototypes of accurate and complex mechatronic systems for OEMs. In addition, Frencken Mechatronics Europe supports the introduction within the other Frencken companies, e.g. for pilot and production operations. Projects are carried out by multidisciplinary teams that work closely with customers and suppliers. Frencken Mechatronics Europe is part of the international Frencken Group Ltd. with subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and the USA.

Frencken Engineering

Frencken Engineering is a department within Frencken Mechatronics Europe, where working products are designed on the basis of customer specifications. Once designed, the department also supervises the realization of prototypes and plays an active role in the verification process. An innovative approach and modern design techniques keep the time to market as short as possible. Frencken Engineering includes several technology disciplines among which mechanics, electronics, mechatronics and software. Characteristic of the department is the project-based approach, in which engineers and designers work together intensively in project teams. A strong collaboration with other departments, suppliers and partners is thereby essential and therefore part of every day’s work.

The Position

The System Engineering group is part of Frencken Engineering and includes the following fields of engineering: Electronics, Software and Mechatronics. A system engineer works in multidisciplinary teams. He/she contributes to the development of new products and product-specific test systems and is responsible for drawing up a test plan for prototypes and series based on functional specifications. For the prototypes, the System Engineer executes the test plan, processes the results and makes recommendations for design improvements. In addition, the diagnosis of issues with and maintenance of test systems is also part of the duties.

The System Engineering group uses tools like E-plan, Labview and Matlab for design, analysis and verification. Simulations of design dynamics and analysis thereof are performed in Simulink. Preferably, you have knowledge of at least 2 of the 3 tools, however, further on-the-job specialization is possible.

Your Profile

- Technical education and training at university level (university of applied science or research university), preferably mechatronics, electronics or computer science

- At least 3 years of work experience in high-tech mechanical engineering and mechatronics

- Experience with product development and preparation and execution of test plans

- Extensive experience in Labview, EPlan, Matlab / Simulink or similar

- Experience in making a technical designs

- Knowledge of motion, dynamics or CE is an advantage

- Good English language skills

- High degree of flexibility
