What does the role of Production Engineer NPI entail?

In this role, you are responsible for technically introducing, maintaining, and improving/optimizing the assembly and manufacturing process. As a specialist in the product and assembly process, you are the technical point of contact both internally and externally for technical matters.

What will you be doing:

  • Technical internal and external point of contact, specialist of the product and the assembly and manufacturing process.
  • Task guidance, execution, and reporting of Process Flow + FMEA within NPI trajectories
  • Evaluation of TPD on assembly hours (VC), feasibility, and risks (FMEA).
  • Continuous search for efficiency improvements within and outside the department (implementation of improvement projects and procedures).
  • Active maintenance of customer and supplier contacts.
  • Overall responsibility for the guidance, execution, and reporting of TPD reviews for all new and modified products.
  • You play a leading role in improvement projects and CCB (Change Control Board).
  • Technical ownership of the product and process. You act as an advisory specialist for the entire organization and ensure the
  •  dissemination of knowledge and methods.
  •  Together with (Senior) Quality Engineers, you promote the Zero Defects mindset and focus on the "First Time    Right" approach within the internal organization.
  • Implement new assembly possibilities in production.
  • Regularly and proactively engage with the customer on ongoing and new developments.
  • Proactively coordinate process and product improvements with suppliers.

Are you our Production Engineer NPI?

Like no other, you see opportunities to improve processes, and you have already implemented numerous process improvements. Lean manufacturing holds no secrets for you.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Completed HBO education, preferably in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role with strong customer liaison experience.
  • Experience in a production environment with high-tech products and complex assembly processes.
  • You have achieved demonstrable success in the field of process improvement and have mastered the relevant methods of
  •    (statistical) data analysis.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices, a Green- or Blackbelt certification is an advantage.
  • Can read and interpret component and composition drawings.
  • Strong analytical insight and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive work attitude with a constant focus on the quality and optimization of the assembly process.
  • Good communication and social skills.
  • Proficient in English, spoken and written and Dutch is an advantage.
  • Open to working a 2-shift schedule: 06:30 to 15:00 and 14:30 to 23:00 Monday to Friday with flexibility for weekend work when needed.
