What does the role of Senior Production Engineer-Volume entail?
As a Senior Production Engineer focused on low-volume production, you will oversee the technical introduction, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of assembly and manufacturing processes tailored to low-volume production requirements. Serving as a specialist in product and assembly processes, you will be the primary technical contact both internally and externally for all related matters.
What will you be doing:
• Guide, execute, and report on Process Flow and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Assess Technical Product Documentation (TPD) for assembly hours (VC), feasibility, and risks (FMEA).
• Continuously identify and implement improvements within and beyond the department through projects and procedures.
• Maintain active contact with customers and suppliers to align on requirements and improvements.
• Oversee and report on TPD reviews for all new and modified products, ensuring alignment with internal and customer expectations.
• Take a leading role in improvement initiatives and Change Control Board (CCB) activities.
• Act as a technical advisor and ensure knowledge sharing across the organization regarding product and process methodologies.
• Collaborate with (Senior) Quality Engineers to foster a "First Time Right" mindset and a Zero Defects culture.
• Introduce and implement new assembly techniques to enhance production capabilities.
• Proactively engage with customers on ongoing projects and future developments.
• Work closely with suppliers to drive process and product improvements.
Are you our Senior Production engineer- Volume?
You thrive on identifying process improvement opportunities and have a proven track record of successful implementations. Lean manufacturing is second nature to you.
Furthermore, you have:
• Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing role, with demonstrated expertise in customer collaboration.
• Proven experience in high-tech production environments with complex assembly processes.
• Success in process improvements, supported by strong statistical and data analysis skills.
• Familiarity with vacuum systems and contamination control is a plus.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles; Green Belt or Black Belt certification is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret component and assembly drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and quality-focused approach to optimizing assembly processes.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
